A Marondera woman who is living with disability was left in tears of joy after a group of alumni teachers from Nyadire Teachers' College donated a wheelchair before constructing a ramp at her house.
The philanthropists consist of a group of teachers who trained at the college between 1981 and 1984.
The beneficiary, Tayambuka Makuzvira (55) from Dombotombo suburb, suffered a stroke in her late 20s and subsequently became disabled.
A representative from the alumni, Tonderai Makirimani said they had to mobilise resources after learning of the plight of the woman.
"We were approached by members from the Heart of Relief organisation seeking assistance in the form of a wheelchair for our dear granny," he said.
"We thought a wheelchair was not enough and went further to construct a ramp for easy mobility.
"We are also going to buy her a new bed."
Before, Makuzvira had to spend most of her time inside her room due to mobility problems.

"God has answered my prayers, she can move around now."
