The book has been endorsed by several marketplace and religious leaders who echoed Naume’s message of forgiveness and healing at a time when many people are haunted by broken relationships, including but not limited to childhood background, family and marital challenges amongst others.
Veteran author Imelda Tsumba described the book as “a well written and must read practical tool, relevant for all ages” and added that the book “was full of life lessons of how to cope with emotional challenges”.
Bishop Tendayi Denford and Pastor Tsatsawami Mutungamiri, founders of the Oasis Family Church noted that “whilst there were many self-help books on healing and forgiveness, with the subject being a central point of focus by most therapists, nothing had by so far explained the subject as Naume’s book did for them” and added that “the practical journey of letting go of resentment, the right to vengeance, and the buderns of shame so that one could reclaim life had been made practical in this detailed script”
In his foreword, counsellor and founder of Christian Counselling Centre Ian Wilsher stated that, “The phenomenon of forgiveness was something that impacted each and everyone of us and we all needed to forgive and to be forgiven and added that “Naume shared helpful, practical tools which brought understanding of how we could all forgive”.
In the book, Naume uses “fictitious characters” in different healing-related dilemmas based on her experiences as a counsellor and these experiences entice the reader and makes the book understandable by bringing its principles and tools practical and more relatable.
She paid tribute to her parents, beginning with her father for the role he played in grooming and positioning her to teach through writing, thanks to the investment he had made in her early years.
“My father was a librarian. Out of all my siblings, my father singled me out to accompany him on his different excursions to all the libraries in Harare. It started off as enjoying the process of reading. It later developed to expressing my gift of teaching through writing.
She also paid tribute to her mother for being her cheerleader who taught her a lot about contentment.
“My mother has always been a positive encourager who taught me a lot about contentment.
She is a strong voice of support in my life, She did all she could to ensure our needs were met in the best of her ability.
She dedicated the book “to everyone who is struggling to let go of the pain and harm that was done to them and is now living in unforgiveness and emphasised that it is easy to get stuck in these painful moments and how the book carries significant tools and principles that can be applied to a range of different scenarios which enables one to come out on the other side whilst embracing wholeness.
Naume also added that they were currently working on a Shona version of the book, as well as an audio version for the visually impaired or anyone who prefers to listen rather than read.
“I am motivated by seeing people thrive and operate in their God-given gifts. My teachings focus on growth, self-discovery, healing, individuality, and positivity” stated Naume.
The book is readily available in Innov8 bookshop branches across the country.
