ORPHANS at Khayelihle Children's Village in Bulawayo received a Christmas cheer when a local civic organisation, The Doing Good Project Trust, hosted a party for them.
The chairperson of the trust, Brilliant Sithole, said every child deserved to enjoy during Christmas.
“These cakes are a symbol of love and a reminder that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves. This year we decided to make a different Christmas for the children as we want them to see that we appreciate them,” Brilliant said.
“We believe that every child deserves to know and feel the unconditional love of God.”
The communications officer for the trust, Thina Sithole, echoed similar sentiments.
“I would love to thank the staff, caregivers and everyone involved in providing a loving home for these precious children,” Tina said.
“Their work has grown from just being isolated innovations to community-wide projects, especially with the partnerships and collaborations of other organisations.”
The Doing Good Project Trust appealed to the corporate world and other stakeholders to chip in and cater for the needs of orphans at the children’s home.
The trust donated food hampers as well.
