Arrested

A 22-year-old man who has been terrorising residents of Bulawayo’s Bellevue suburb as he stole cellphones, vehicle,  wheels, amplifiers and television sets has been arrested.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube identified the suspect, who is facing two counts of unlawful entry and theft, as Muzi Sithole.

“On Tuesday, police recovered one small cell phone kgtel and cleared 3 cases of unlawful entry and theft,” Ncube said.

“Managed to recover other property that includes two cells phones (kgtel small cell phone and a CKgtel); 32 inch Sumsung  plasma tele vision set , two size 15 tyres, an amplifier , a speaker and an open view decoder.”

He said Sithole  has since appeared in court and was remanded in custody. Bellevue residents said Sithole operated along the railway line and robbed people of their cellphones at knife point.

“We managed to apprehend him after he had robbed some resident of his  cellphones at knife point,” the resident said.

“We chased him and managed to apprehend him near some houses within the suburb and handed him over to Donnington police station.”
