IN a first of its kind, some of the most influential voices that shape local culture, connect communities and drive innovation across industries are set to be honoured at the inaugural Voices That Rock Zim Awards and Hall of Fame.
The awards, which are the brainchild of veteran radio personality Richard Kohola through his Kcomms, are set to be held on July 11 at The Venue in Avondale, Harare.
They will be held under the theme, Because Hearing is Believing #Speak Word into Life.
The awards organiser’s spokesperson, Jefferson Muserera, said the initiative was a celebration of unique, creative, entertaining and influential voices in Zimbabwe.
“The Voices That Rock Zim Awards and Hall of Fame is a first-of-its-kind project that is destined to raise the profile of those who are talented with the gift of public speaking, radio presenting, voice-over work, voice acting, event MC hosting, sports commentary, and even comedy,” Muserera said.
“The awards will celebrate contemporary voices that dominate Zimbabwe’s creative and marketing landscapes, while the prestigious Voices That Rock Zim and Hall of Fame will induct 15 legendary individuals whose contributions have left an indelible mark on Zimbabwe’s rich cultural and media heritage.”
Muserera has invited Zimbabweans from all walks of life to be part of this historic initiative to recognise individuals that have impacted their lives over the years by sharing their personal testimonies of voices either on radio, television, social media or any other platform.
“From captivating radio hosts to dynamic social media influencers, compelling voice actors and corporate communicators, Zimbabwe’s voice talent is at the heart of storytelling and connection.
