BULAWAYO music enthusiasts are in for a treat as the AmaKST duo of King Sera and Twiza TM Cool recently unveiled their debut extended play (EP) The Return of the Prodigal Son.
The EP, which comprises eight songs, was released on November 25 last year.
Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style, vocalist Twiza TM Cool said they faced several challenges in the build-up to the release.
“The album was meant to be dropped on November 23, but we ended up releasing it on November 25,” he said.
“We had some issues that we faced and we could not drop it.”
The duo, which hails from Nkulumane 12, said the EP was the start of greater things to come in its journey in the amapiano industry, which is a booming genre within the urban youth space.
In the EP, it also collaborated with Tee_Beats and D’Jelmar.
Some of the duo’s tracks include Iyano (ft Ashley), Black Label, Beke Le Beke, African Sounds (ft Longnus Huncho from Tanzania) and Bhalansa Tsotsi (ft Kayoto).
Twiza said they were inspired by the former South African amapiano duo Amaroto, which consists of Zuma and Reece Madlisa.
“We have been helping some up-and-coming artistes in the community, managing them so that we can get to the top of the mountain together,” he said.
“And we have been hosting some events around the community like the Kasi to Kasi Chillout.”
