AmaKST set to drop EP

TALENTED Bulawayo-based amapiano duo, AmaKST, is ready to drop a banger extended play (EP) on November 23 titled The Return of the Prodigal Sons.

TALENTED Bulawayo-based amapiano duo, AmaKST, is ready to drop a banger extended play (EP) on November 23 titled The Return of the Prodigal Sons.

The EP comprises eight fire tracks.

The duo, composed of King Sera and Twiza_TM Cool and hailing from Nkulumane 12, said this was only the start of greater things to come in its journey in the amapiano industry which was a booming genre within the urban youth space.

"This is just an intro of ourselves as we enter the game, we still have a long way to go and a lot of good music along the way," Twiza_TM Cool told NewsDay Life & Style.

The EP includes a collaboration with Tee_Beats and D'Jelmar and the two artistes said audiences  should expect nothing but fire, adding that some Bulawayo artistes could learn a thing or two from them.

The two said their music career started as far back as primary school days.

"We started singing and dancing while we were at Mtshane Primary School but did not take it seriously until we went to Mandwandwe High School where we began  working with a former classmate named Tee_Beats who was producing amapiano beats, " said  Twiza_TM Cool.

Some of the duo's tracks include Iyano (featuring Ashley), Black Label, Beke Le Beke, African sounds, featuring Longnus Huncho from Tanzania and Bhalansa Tsotsi featuring Kayoto.

After being quiet for a while the duo bounced back with Left and Right which featured CityKingsRSA from South Africa.

The duo said it was inspired by  the former South African amapiano duo, Amaroto, that consisted of Zuma and Reece Madlisa.

“We wish to become one of the best in the country and we have been helping some up-and-coming artistes by managing them so that we all reach the top together. Some highlights have been the events that we have hosted around the community such as the kasi to kasi chillout,” he said.
