AWARD WINNING multi-talented artist Shekinah Ndlovu, otherwise known as Kinah The Music in showbiz, aspires to uplift fellow artistes through his foundation Action With Drive Association which seeks to empower youths in the arts industry.
In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style Ndlovu said his organisation sought to empower and develop artistes by teaching them how to play different musical instruments and other forms of artistic expressions.
“We do things like creating competitions for aspiring artistes whereby winners get to record their songs they have long desired to do so. We also give artistes opportunities to learn instruments and also teach song writing skills. Through the organisation, we also ran a programme whereby we encouraged artistes to give back to their communities through donations such as groceries to orphanages and old people’s homes or just spending time with people and entertaining them,” he said.
Ndlovu, who started out in 2017 as a guitarist for such renowned musicians as Jeys Marabini, Sandra Ndebele, Selmour Mtukudzi, Tariro NeGitare and Asaph launched his solo musical career in 2021 by releasing his first single track titled Uncertainty and has since produced other songs, among them Adamant Lovers, Ran Out Of Time and Fool For Your Love.
He further noted that he found inspiration to make music through events that happen in life which pushed him to convey messages of hope and love.
He also recalled feeling shy to change his life for the better, but has since learnt to work hard to prove to his family what he was doing was his calling.
Ndlovu yearns to help his peers through creating programmes that enrich their creativity and personal development, collaborate with artists he grew up listening to and win a Grammy for the country.
He also urged aspiring musicians to perfect their craft behind the scenes as they await the chance to unveil to the world their offer.

Besides music and being a guitarist, Ndlovu seeks to stretch his creativity to script writing, poetry and chess, activities he believes will position him to be adventurous and discover what else he can do.
As a session guitarist, Ndlovu has played at the Coca Cola Unplugged Festival, Jacaranda Festival, Victoria Falls Carnival, Intwasa Arts Festival and the United Nations Virtual Concert.
He won the National Arts Merit Awards Outstanding Newcomer this year and was also awarded an Influential and Ecosystem Builders in Zimbabwe certificate last year.
