ORGANISERS of the inaugural July Festival yesterday added popular dancehall chanter Bazooker and wheelspinner Dj Lroy to the line-up of performers set to entertain revellers at the fete scheduled for next weekend at The Odyssey in Kadoma.
Award-winning arts promoter 2 Kings Entertainment is behind the one-day festival to be headlined by South African Afro-pop music duo, Blaq Diamond.
Coming on board, Bazooker, born Collet Budara Wahita, and Dj Lroy join songbird Ammara Brown, dancehall chanters Nutty O and Uncle Epatan who had already been confirmed as part of the festival acts.
“We have decided to rope in Bazooker and Dj Lroy to add flair to our stellar line-up of performers responding to fans’ requests from our interaction with them on our different social media platforms,” festival co-ordinator Dee Nosh told NewsDay Life & Style.
“The two (Bazooker and Dj Lroy) have managed to win the hearts of many fans due to their art which they can identify with. They have the talent and ability to send fans wild through their energetic performances.”
Meanwhile, Dee Nosh said there had been positive responses to ticket sales for the potentially explosive concert.
“We have released the advance tickets on time as part of our planning so as to ease pressure on fans and avoid unnecessary queuing on concert day. We are happy with the response as an indication on how fans have endorsed this festival and its line-up,” he said.
“We are more than committed to giving music fans great entertainment, hence bringing artistes from different genres on one stage at reasonable pricing. We have pegged our early bird tickets for the festival at US$5 and US$15 VIP, respectively.”

Dee Nosh said the festival was meant to provide a platform for local artistes to share notes with international talent.
“We are just looking forward to a great and memorable show at The Odyssey which is increasingly becoming the home of showbiz, hosting both top local and foreign acts,” he said.
Dee Nosh said the festival would be an annual event added to their calendar.
