MULTI-LINGUAL praise and worship singer Everton Mlalazi is optimistic that 2023 will bring better fortunes after an eventful 2022, which he said had been “a season of learning and growth.”
“The year 2022 has been a busy yet fulfilling year in ministry in which I learnt a lot and we believe it has been that season of growth and learning,” he said.
“2022 also saw the EM (Everton Mlalazi) brand taking its tour from the Harare Sinach Concert, the Bulawayo Homecoming concert, Zambia Travis Greene Concert, South African (Sandton) Great Physician Concert to the Nigeria Sinach Christmas Concert to cap a busy yet fulfilling year in ministry.”
Mlalazi added that he also launched the Worship Therapy band which is the resident band and vocalists for the EM brand.
As he continues to learn and polish his craft, this year Mlalazi extended his discography adding songs like Bambelela, Ndokutewera and Nyashadzashe that went on to enjoy good airplay and top local radio charts.
Apart from the singles, he also recorded a live album The Great Physician which has hit songs such as Nyang’ Enkhulu, title track Great Physician, Imbirai Jehovah, Ndimi Simba and Pass Me not oh Gentle Savior.
His efforts and exploits on the music scene have not gone unnoticed, last week he was adjudged the Outstanding Gospel Artiste/Act at the annual Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards 2022.
As he prepares to welcome 2023, Mlalazi has already confirmed the release of Nomakunje, his first song for the imminent year that features Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a Grammy award-winning South African male choral group.

The song Nomakunje, is scheduled for release at 2pm on his Everton Mlalazi Music YouTube channel.
Mlalazi said the song Nomakunje was meant to encourage and give hope to those on the verge of losing hope, adding that together with his producer Nigel Nyangombe they rearranged the traditional chorus to give it new life.
“Psalm 23:4 Yes, though walk through the (deep, sunless) valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me: Your rod (to protect) and Your staff (to guide), they comfort me,” he noted.
“Even though they harm us on the way. Even though they throw thorns at us, we shall succeed. Move forward, don’t lose power, don’t lose focus, forward ever and no turning back.”
He added: “In Isaiah 41:10, God confirms to us all that we must not fear for He is with us. He says, “Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Mlalazi is optimistic of doing great in the coming year.
“We are expecting that the year 2023 will be exciting. Will be releasing our second album titled, “In The Presence 11 — God’s Grace. To our fans we want to say thank you for supporting us, and your support encourages us to remain working,” he said.
Through his music, Mlalazi has created a vibrant new gospel sound that is inspired by his love for music and childhood musical influence.
His music received considerable airplay on several regional gospel music television stations.
