Elections, held at Masvingo Polytechnic a fortnight ago to choose his successor, had to be suspended after youths exchanged blows in front of the provincial leadership.
Addressing mourners and Zanu PF supporters, Harare Metropolitan provincial secretary Tafadzwa Muguti said: “I have been sent by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to say that comrade Chidawu has been declared a national hero.”
That Zanu PF forms a government that accedes to constitutionalism, the sanctity of rule of law and respect for global human rights values would make one believe that the party is as progressive and eager to belong to an international community that respects other human beings.
Addressing scores of youths at Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera at the weekend, Paradza announced that the CCC led by Nelson Chamisa will be barred in the province.
The lack of change from service providers and poor services for individuals who rely on their systems has driven many to transition to financial technology to save time and money.
Political tension has heightened during the past few months following some by-elections which the ruling Zanu PF party largely lost to the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). The murder of a CCC activist Moreblessing Ali last month also triggered violence pitting CCC and Zanu PF supporters in Nyatsime, Chitungwiza.
Their leader John Paradza emphatically said his party would unleash its dogs on CCC because they have the right to do so because they are the ruling party.
The defiant Paradza said the party would unleash violence in defending the revolutionary party, adding that as youth, they were going to defend the party.
The protest, which had been planned to take place at the party’s Buhera district offices at Murambinda growth point, failed to materialise as police cordoned off the area.
