Chegutu Pirates . . . . . . . (1)1
Herentals . . . . . . . . . . . . (1)1
CHEGUTU Pirates remained firmly fixed in the relegation zone after a share of spoils in their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Herentals at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro-Ngezi yesterday.
Reginald Ngazima gave the promoted side the lead just two minutes after the start of the match and at that stage, it looked like it was going to be their day.
But the Students found a way back before the break through an own goal by Pirates’ Reuben Machaya.
The two teams traded blows from then on in search of three points, but a stalemate was probably the fairest outcome.
Referee Jimmy Makwanda had another outstanding performance in the centre at a time when the match officials have taken the limelight for the wrong reasons.
Pirates moved to 13 points with the draw, four adrift of the safety zone.
