Williams calls time on T20I

Williams' last match was Zimbabwe's fifth and final T20I international against Bangladesh on Sunday.

ZIMBABWE national cricket team all-rounder Sean Williams retired from the T20I version of the game to concentrate on One Day Internationals and Tests.

Williams' last match was Zimbabwe's fifth and final T20I international against Bangladesh on Sunday. The match ended in an eight-wicket victory for the Chevrons with nine deliveries left in the match.

His involvement was bowling a single over for 12 runs and did not get an opportunity to bat on his last match as half centuries from captain Sikandar Raza and Brian Bennett ensured that Zimbabwe got consolation win.

Williams played 81 T20Is for Zimbabwe scoring 1 691 runs, a highest score of 66 among the 11 half centuries to his credit averaging 23.48.

He took 38 wickets with a best bowling figures of 3/15.

He made his T20I debut in Khulna, Bangladesh, in November 2006 scoring 38 and claiming a wicket.

He decided to end his T20I career where it all started, about 18 years ago.
