Divine insight: Stand up for your dream

Anything that is of value goes through a process. Many never become the leaders they were called to be because they could not bear the pressure. The heat required to make a gold vessel is different from the heat required to make a plastic vessel. The intensity of pressure used to mold you determines the type of destiny you carry. Some have short-circuited these processes and stopped God's hand from molding them into unique individuals.

Every person who has made an impact in this world went through something that qualified them to sit in that position they are in or they were in. What will it take for you to accomplish all he has called you to do? Every great man or woman has a story to tell. At times during the molding, they did not fully understand the workings of God. Every great man went through a test that caused them to have access to their testimony.

The late Myles Munroe said, “The wealthiest place in the world is not the gold mines of South America or the oil fields of Iraq or Iran. They are not the diamond mines of South Africa or the banks of the world. The wealthiest place on the planet is just down the road. It is the cemetery. There lie buried companies that were never started, inventions that were never made, bestselling books that were never written, and masterpieces that were never painted. In the cemetery is buried the greatest treasure of untapped potential.” The reason these dreams were never realised is  because  the dreamers were not prepared to fight for their dreams.

One unique testimony is of Strive Masiyiwa. His testimony echoes throughout Africa, how he fought his own government who tried to stop him from starting a mobile company Econet. For over five years, he took the then government to court. How many of us would have been that bold and fearless? The move put him and his family in danger, but he was determined to see the fulfillment of his vision. If you are not yet ready to fight for your dream, then you're not yet ready for it to be birthed.

The Bible tells the story of a dreamer named Joseph. Even though God had shown him in a dream his prophetic destiny, it seemed like just a dream because those he saw bowing to him in the dream sold him off into slavery. Years would pass before the fulfillment of this vision. I feel like telling someone, don’t lose hope but also awakening you to understand you need to fight for that dream to be fulfilled. Your dream of starting that business could be the reason thousands will feed their families. You cannot afford to give up. All great people go through a process; imagine if Strive Masiyiwa had given up. There are so many people waiting for the fulfillment of that dream that was released to you.

Every great vision faces resistance, especially from those it will benefit the most. Don’t give up and keep focused on accomplishing your vision. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 God saw the difficulties Joseph would go through, so he put in his character the strength needed to stand until the fulfillment of the word. Strive could have thought of giving up, but God would send people at the right time to encourage him; he also had a supportive wife that stood with him and encouraged him to continue believing. God has predestined you for greatness; don’t give up. Have a blessed week.
