THE Hwange Local Board is seeking a twinning arrangement with the municipality of Ba-Phalaborwa, in Limpopo, South Africa.
HLB spokesperson, Dumisani Nsingo confirmed saying this is the reason why the two municipalities co-exhibited at the recently ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF). “For us co-exhibiting with the Municipality of Ba-Phalaborwa is a huge milestone considering that the two of us are on the brink of signing a twinning arrangement,” Nsingo said.
According to Nsingo, the HLB has in the past three years attended the annual Marula Festival hosted in Phalaborwa including the latest edition, to fortify their relations.“This is one of the avenues that local governments can follow to improve service delivery using experiences from other cities and towns outside Zimbabwe," he said.
“A good twinning partnership can bring many benefits to a community and the municipality. It gives an opportunity to share problems, exchange views and understand different viewpoints on any issue where there is a shared interest or concern."
