There was drama at a village in Plumtree’s Mphoengs area when an 18 year-old girl was allegedly caught wearing stolen clothes.

Sharon Nyathi from Guqukani village was humiliated by the owner of the hat and shoes she was wearing after allegedly stealing them from his house.

Nyathi appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembare facing charges of breaking into  Velaphi Gwazemba’s house and stealing goods worth R910. She was remanded in custody to tomorrow.

Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa alleged that on May 29 Gwazemba locked his house in the morning and came back in the afternoon.

On his return, he was shocked to see his bedroom door open and windows wide open with his clothes and R150 missing.

On June 10, he met Nyathi in the village wearing some of his stolen clothes and quizzed her.

She admitted that she had unlawfully entered the house and stole his clothes and money.
