Investment strategist nominated for prestigious award

INVESTMENT strategist Ngobile Magwiz

INVESTMENT strategist Ngobile Magwizi, who is also the founder of NC & Banat, has been nominated for the prestigious Outstanding Contributions to Investment Promotion Award at the upcoming Capital Markets Awards 2024.

The awards ceremony, hosted by the Capital Markets Association of Zimbabwe, will be held on December 6 at The Nest in Borrowdale.

The Capital Markets Awards honour individuals and organisations that have demonstrated exceptional performance and promise in the investment sector.

Managing director of Financial Markets Indaba, Patrick Muzondo, said the awards recognised organisations that promoted investments.

“This distinguished event celebrates organisations and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional performance and promising growth potential,” Muzondo said.

“The awards highlight entities that uphold a responsible, accountable business model while demonstrating a strong dedication to environmental, social, and governance principles.”

According to the organisers, Magwizi’s nomination is in recognition of his substantial contribution to various high-impact projects across Zimbabwe.

Some of the most notable projects spearheaded by NC & Banat under Magwizi’s leadership include National Sports Stadium refurbishment.

The company has been deeply-involved in upgrading Zimbabwe’s National Sports Stadium, focusing on enhancing comfort and safety with the installation of Fifa-approved standard bucket seats.

The project, which is expected to be completed by June 2025, aims to elevate the stadium to world-class standards.

NC & Banat has also played a pivotal role in the development of Northgate Estates, overseeing master planning and investment structuring for this groundbreaking project.

In collaboration with Shenxin Construction, NC & Banat contributed its expertise to a 35-megawatt solar power project for Zimplats, a leading platinum producer.

To address traffic congestion in Harare, NC & Banat provided advisory services for the construction of the Mbudzi Interchange to ease traffic flow in a vital part of the city.

NC & Banat provided comprehensive advisory services for the successful acquisition and transition of Lafarge Holcim Zimbabwe to Khayah Cement, ensuring a smooth and strategic handover.

The company was also involved in Harare-Beitbridge Highway, Mbare Market and Rufaro Stadium rehabilitation.
