African Writers Roundtable–an organisation founded upon realisation of the need to expose great African Literature is gearing up for the release of its 2nd edition of the magazine on the 27th of March under the theme greatness, excellence and leadership.
The African Writers Roundtable is an initiative of Takudzwa Masapa, an internationally recognised award-winning and self-driven author of three books, Your Guide to Elite Leadership (2019), Whosoever Want to be Great (2019) and Amplified Silence: Birthing Leaders that Brings Solutions to Concealed Problems (2021).
In 2021 Amplified Silence earned Masapa an honorary award at the fourth edition of the Global African Authors Awards which were held under the theme Unlock the stories for Africa with the intention of celebrating, honouring and recognising high achievement from within the African Diaspora Community.
Masapa’s literary works seems to be inspired by his desire to foresee a world with elite leaders and the ability to pass on that kind of world to the generations to follow and the latest African Magazine initiative for authors consolidates his desire to document and preserve such knowledge through writing and literature.
The organisation is rooted to the conviction of exposing African Literature so that all author’s rise together to achieve endless possibilities and apart from Masapa the team constitute prolific writer, author and fashion designer Langelihle Buhle with Ishmael Mugari, an aspiring Architect leading the communications department.
The first edition of the magazine came out in November 2021 and featured authors from African countries, including Uganda, Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa as well as respected Zimbabwean authors Cynthia Chirinda and Florence Mudzingwa.
Masapa stated that the magazine was aimed at uplifting both African artistry and creativity whilst impacting the younger and older generations.

“We realise that most African youngsters, because of the advent of technology, only get to look up to trend-setters they see on television and social media platforms because they are easily within reach and in most cases the role models they are exposed to. Consequently, most youngsters grow up with minds shrouded by unrealistic and non-contextual dreams due to lack of insights on what is contextual and lack of examples to relate to how African greats had risen to the occasion in difficult and trying times, different from what we see paraded elsewhere”,he added.
Featuring great African authors such as Stanley Anenyemele Asasu from Ghana, Ompele Cathiwe Moreosele from Botswana and Abel Hara from Zambia, the second edition of the magazine offers great deal of stories that are reliable and inspiring in which the authors narrate their jaw-dropping and soul tearing journeys they incurred on their different roads to success.
