BY KUDZAI CHITSATSO MIDFINEST Arts Society INC modelling agency will next month host Miss Chitungwiza 2022-23 pageant at Damview Hotel in the town.

Artists such as Bev City, Kayslie, MORGUANA 45K, Miss TK, Stiiv, Seven Cadre, Skeycrew and Trigar Kays will perform at the pageant which will take place from 3pm to 8pm.

Midfinest Arts Society INC director Marshalrose Ngoso said early marriages and school dropouts for the girl child inspired him to host the event.

“Early marriages and school dropouts among girls are worrisome in society and it’s something that is inspired me as a way of empowering the girl child,” Ngoso said.

He said the event is aimed at identifying potential models with a long term goal of promoting modelling in Zimbabwe.

“Our aim is to help identify potential models with long-term goal, to empower young girls and advocate for equality, facilitate grooming as well as inspire peers to believe in themselves with a determination to be successful. The girl child should showcase her confidence in her beauty and unique features, and we also aim to minimise early pregnancies and early marriages and school dropouts,” he said.

Ngoso said the event planning which involves 15 models is going well.

“The event is going well, but models need to be motivated, a few are serious and the response from sponsors is low,” he said.

“The event is sponsored by Go fit Zim, Shamwari Yemwanasikana, Chico Fashions ,Munie Dios and Fusion Events,” he said.

“For 2022 this is our first beauty pageant after we hosted a model workshop with Miss Diamond Ireland 2021 Blessing Miranda in Harare in June.”
