By Sindiso Dube in Victoria Falls The curtain comes down tonight on the 10th edition of the Victoria Falls Carnival after three days of exhilarating fun fare.
The fiesta, which usually takes place on New Year’s Eve, had to be moved to April due to the Covid-19 pandemic
The event organisers also moved the venue to the Elephant Hills Hotel, a move festival director Craig Bright said was to afford fun lovers a spacious experience.
‘We have decided to move the venue to Elephant Hills Hotel as it’s more suited to a music festival of our size,” Bright said.
“We have unfortunately outgrown the school venue — and the fact that we can use the hotel as a base for all our artistes and crew.
“There is also more space to accommodate the festival, and the venue is on the beautiful Zambezi River with incredible views. It is also close to the sunset cruise boats, and other incredible activities on offer in Victoria Falls.
“We see more room for growth at this venue and it’s a great way to start our new journey after the long break due to the pandemic, and celebrate our 10th year.”
The annual carnival started on Friday with performances from South African star Master KG on the main stage.

Amapiano stars Kabza De Small, Maphorisa and Sha Sha did not take part on the opening night as advertised and are expected to be on stage tonight.
Local artists Ngoma Ingoma, DJ Francis and Botswana’s Khoisan also performed at the show.
Yesterday, revellers took part in activities such as bungee jumping and site viewing before the party mode was re-activated at night as they danced to sounds of Tashinga, KingHer, NiteFreak, Nizhe DeSoul and Zimbabwe’s top tribal house group- Djembe Monks.
The event will end with performances from South Africa’s Shimza and Tanya Vee.
The South Africans will be backed by Zimbabwe’s finest Takura, Asaph, Flying Bantu and high Riding dancehall chanter Nutty O.
