Blaq Hearts to release new album

Blaq Hearts said the album draws inspiration from his upbringing and the energy of the streets.

South Africa-based Zimbabwean Afro-pop and Amapiano musician Edward Shepherd, who goes by the stage name Blaq Hearts, told Standard Style that he  is working on a new album titled Dlala Tsotsi.

Blaq Hearts said the album draws inspiration from his upbringing and the energy of the streets.

“I’m currently working on an album titled Dlala Tsotsi, which is inspired by where I grew up and the streets,” he explained.

“The album is a way of giving back love to those who support my music.

“It’s going to have eight songs featuring various artists around the world, such as CitykingRSA, Lusha SA, Welle SA, AP Yano, Tee Beats, D’jelmar, and MKY.”

The musician expects to drop the album by the end of August.

“I’m expecting to drop the album by the end of August,” he said.

Blaq Hearts expressed his excitement about releasing the album under his management, Undermax Productions, and collaborating with international producers and artists.

“I’m really excited to drop the album because it’s my first with Undermax Productions, and I get to work with international producers and artists,” he said.

Blaq Hearts signed with Undermax Productions last September, having previously been an independent artist.

Last month, he dropped a hit single titled Last Number, featuring DJ Max Mix, which is gaining traction on TikTok alongside Laqhasha, featuring Lusha SA, MsiziLuthuli, AastroK, Thabiso301, and Lurry K.

Blaq Hearts, who is now based in South Africa, was born in Bulawayo and began his music career in 2016.

His first single, Ngeke, featuring Tee Beats and Denja Firoe, was released on social media platforms in 2018.

He then released his debut album, Nqola Yothando in 2019.
