Watch out and be sensitive to mothers whose children have departed; all mothers are precious. Happy Mother’s Day May 12.
This is the clarion call to all family members who are celebrating Mother’s Day today.
Celebrate and do remember your family members whose children are not well and cannot be with their mothers.
Some family members have lost their mothers. Please remember them and reach out to them in this season.

Most mothers sacrificed for their children to get the best education.
In fact just carrying a child for nine months is a great blessing. Some mothers to this day still care and support their grown up children while others have adopted children in their communities.
There is generally a lot of extended family mothering that is taking place even in this modern day.

Mothers look out for their children and other children from extended families and the community at large. Some aunties have graciously become mothers to their siblings’ children.
Some mothers have children who are far away in the diaspora while others are widowed with some having been divorced.
Making ends meet is becoming difficult for some mothers who are at the market every day trying to fend for their children.
Please remember these mothers whose children have gone to be with the Lord. They are very special.
Days like birthdays and Mothers’ Days are huge triggers for these mothers.
They just need some love, so family members should not tip -toe around them. Just be normal and be sensitive while you reach out to them.
Send these mothers flowers as well and invite them to your family gatherings and lunches.
Remember that it is the most difficult thing a parent goes through burying their child. It is meant to be the other way round.
Mothers are supposed to age and be buried by their children and not the other way round.
Marjorie Mutemererwa, a public relations, media and communications strategist and specialist knows this very well.
Marjorie’s only child was electrocuted on February 3, 2011.
Marjorie’s son Richard Kevin Rugube was sixteen years at the time. Richard was an O level student at Saint George’s College.
Richard would have been turning 30 years this year. Some of Richard’s agemates are getting married or are married. Most of them are working and they will be buying their mothers flowers and taking their mothers for lunch or buying their mothers special presents and gifts.
These milestones and Mother’s Day that jolt Marjorie’s fond memories of her only child.
In honour of her son Richard Kevin Rugube, Marjorie Mutemererwa set up a foundation called Richard Kevin Rugube and Marjorie Fadziso Mutemererwa Foundation (RKR & MFM Foundation), which assists orphans and vulnerable communities.
Marjorie also penned a book called 7s: Shattered, Shaken, Yet Still Standing; evidence of God’s Strength, Supremacy and Sovereignty.
The book is available on Amazon and Worldwide Bookshop at Celebration Centre.
This Mother’s Day, Marjorie, will be wishing her own mother, Happy Mother’s Day.
She will be going to church and blowing kisses and wishing Happy Mothers’ Day to all the special mothers out there, especially those whose children have gone to be the Lord.
Happy Mothers’ Day to all mothers out there. You are special.
