Social entrepreneur Maureen Mbondiah Mandipaza says it's time women shifted focus from competition to collaboration for sustainable development growth.
Mbondiah Mandipaza said there was need to build a culture among women to encourage them to work together towards a common goal.
“I call upon women to be united and support each other,” she said.
“There is enough opportunity for all of us to run a successful race and as women we need to stay focused and in our own lane in order to avoid distractions.”
Mbondiah Mandipaza has won several accolades over the years including being the finalist at the All Women Achievers Awards in 2016, Midlands Business and Community Awards (2016), BEFTA Awards (2016), Breakfree Recognition Award (2015), Women of Purpose Recognition Award (2016) and Divas of Colour nominee (2017).
She is also a co-author of the book, Inspiration for Women with over 300 women from across the world.
The businesswoman has extensive experience in the health care sector in UK with various roles at both practitioner and management levels in national health services and private health organisations.
In 2016 together with her husband, they founded Dravens Health Care.

For her sterling efforts at Dravens Health Care Mandipaza was recently nominated for the Leading Women in Care Awards under the Homecare category.
The awards, which are supported by headline sponsor Autumna, will take place in London on March 8, which is the International Women’s Day.
The Leading Women in Care Awards celebrate the efforts and achievements of women in the social care sector and for Mbondiah Mandipaza it’s an honour to be counted among the best.
“The nomination came as a surprise and an honour,” she said.
“I feel very humbled to be selected to stand on such an esteemed platform among giants in the industry.”
Mbondiah Mandipaza wears a number of jackets including being business coach, talk show host, author, mother and wife.
Her career path was inspired by her upbringing.
“I lost my mother at a tender age of 17 this is the same time I moved to live in the United Kingdom studying nursing,” Mbondiah Mandipaza said.
“As a young girl l felt the care delivered to my mother was not good enough and l desired to enter into the healthcare industry with passion and excellence.
“I was determined to make a difference.”
“We recently celebrated seven years of care excellence at my organisation this sparked interest from the local mayor to where my business is based.
“It was a remarkable milestone for our business.”
She said her organisation has created the Yvonne Taylor Award in remembrance of one of their most complex clients that their team has ever looked after.
“It was an emotional moment as the family received the award on the night,” she said.
However, she said the healthcare sector has its own challenges.
“The healthcare sector is an extremely challenging environment with compliance as the highest priority,” she said.
“We look after hundreds of individuals and it's very difficult to balance out and ensure all is entirely happy from stakeholders, clients, staff and regulatory bodies.
“I am sure we do a good job of it hence why we are still around now.”
