Charamba protégé in mega thanksgiving ball drive

Several individuals and the Christian community will throng Keele University on April 24, for a blissful night of prayer and testimonies, joined by Zimbabwe’s iconic gospel couple, the Charambas, as key guests.

IT will be a night of melodic fireworks and glory as grateful protégé of pastors Charles and Olivia Charamba rallies fellow Christians and countrymen for a mega thanksgiving ball that will coincide with organiser Yeukai Mhandire's third gospel album launch in New Castle, United Kingdom (UK) in April.

Several individuals and the Christian community will throng Keele University on April 24, for a blissful night of prayer and testimonies, joined by Zimbabwe’s iconic gospel couple, the Charambas, as key guests.

Mhandire, popularly known as, Yeukai Washe, will be launching her latest album This Is My Story, reflecting on God’s transforming impact on her life and career -herself being a committed Christian.

This is My Story succeeds two chart-busting albums that propelled her name, Utiziro (2001) and Munamato (2020).

The buzzing artiste acknowledges the positive impact of the Charambas in her frolic music career and personal.

Taking a cue from biblical verse Isaiah chapter 41, she posted on her Facebook page highlighting God’s omnipotent power on people’s lives.

“Hi family, while in the spirit of prayer, please allow me to share a word that has been placed upon my heart this morning while I was in prayer, Isaiah 41vs10-13.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand…

“Graced by my mentor and role model my sister Pastor Mai Olivia Charamba and her husband Bishop Charles Charamba as our guests of honour. I have so much love and respect for the Charambas and it's a privilege and honour that we are going to be hosting them,” she posted.

But the gospel music minister and a passionate social media preacher reckons that everyone has a Lord’s mystery in their lives to share hence participants will be free to share their testimonies.

“Brethren you also have a story to tell about this God. You have a testimony about this God that we serve.

“THIS IS MY STORY 2024 project LOADING......THIS FAITHFUL GOD is too much,” she noted.

The album’s first track, Rumbidzo will have a WhatsApp and video launch  on January 14 with the award winning, humble and soft spoken musician saying the upcoming album is a testimony to God’s faithfulness.

The album features South Africa-based Zimbabwean Caroline Muzambi.

Yeukai Washe thanked her colleagues, friends and fans and family for their unwavering support in 2023.

“My beloved family I'm so grateful and I thank you for your love and support. Right now I feel so overwhelmed even to express my gratitude.

“I can only say thank you! oh thank you ever so much! I wouldn't be where I am, who I am and what I am becoming without the grace of the Living God and your support,” she continued on her page.

This Is My Story has several tracks that include Rumbidzo including the “Zimbabwean prayer,” Mwari Komborerai Zimbabwe.

Tickets for the five-hour event are available online at Eventbrite.com at £25 and £50 for kids, early birds and late purchases respectively while it’s £65 for adults.

Yeukai Washe’s songs are prayer-driven, touching on different socio-economic and spiritual issues, she says.

The organiser promises a never-to-miss memorable night that is full of surprises and feasting as well.

Yeukai Washe  has  shared stage with  Baba mechanic Manyeruke, South Africa’s gospel queen Rebecca Malope among other Zimbabwean and music icons from the continent.
