Zim tour thrills Zambian media personality

Prominent Zambian media personality Mutale Mwanza has expressed joy over her recent visit to Zimbabwe, saying it has potential to create more opportunities for female media personalities from both sides of the Zambezi River.

Mwanza was in the country courtesy of local media house, She Glows Africa Magazine.

The visit, which was meant to expand Mwanza's network across Africa, saw the Zambian engaging with stakeholders in various sectors, including the local media, business and social work.

“I first encountered She Glows Africa Magazine in 2021 when Alice Tagwira, who is the publication’s founder, reached out to me on social media,” Mwanza said.

“She was someone I received as bubbly because we had not yet met in person.

“She seemed very focused and a go-getter, so I checked out her social media pages and the magazine and I loved what she is doing for women in Africa and beyond.

“I immediately agreed to star on the cover of the magazine in 2021 and here we are in 2023 having dinner in Harare, all thanks to her.

“This has been a progressive partnership and I can’t wait to see what the future holds”.

She Glows Africa Magazine in partnership with Concord For Young Women in Business hosted a dinner for the Zambian media personality at the Rainbow Towers Hotel.

“We discussed a lot of things with regards to fostering education for women, among other things,” said Tagwira.

“Currently, Mutale Mwanza Foundation is  sponsoring two girls at university under the Mutale Mwanza Scholarship at Cavendish University in Zambia and wished to expand.”

Mwanza is the only Zambian female celebrity with own reality television show titled Mutale Mwanza Unscripted, which airs on Zambezi Magic DStv Channel 162.

Tagwira said She Glows Africa Magazine aims to highlight success stories and showcase women who would have overcome challenges to achieve remarkable accomplishments.

“Our aim is to inspire and motivate our readers to pursue their own aspirations and dreams by shining the limelight on those already accomplishing the impossible,” said Tagwira.
