Environmental activist to represent Zim at Miss Earth

Jongwe, a chemical processing engineering student at Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, cites her love for the environment and the need for a larger platform to advocate for her cause as the driving forces behind her participation in the pageant.

DRIVEN by her passion for the environment and a desire to make a difference, environmental activist and model Courtney Tadiwanashe Jongwe will represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Earth 2023 pageant.

Jongwe, a chemical processing engineering student at Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, cites her love for the environment and the need for a larger platform to advocate for her cause as the driving forces behind her participation in the pageant.

She focuses on Sustainable Development Goal 13, specifically targeting plastic pollution.

"We need to act now on plastic pollution," said Jongwe.

"I'm advocating for sustainable solutions to minimize plastic waste and to clean up our environment.

“This is the starting point for everyone to understand, and then we can move on to bigger things.”

Jongwe believes her unique blend of cultural background, intelligence, and personality sets her apart from other models. She speaks a bit of Chinese, is an avid sportswoman, and proudly identifies as a Christian, adding depth and dimension to her character.

"Comfort, elegance, and fashion are the cornerstones of my personal style," said Jongwe.

Having participated in Miss Environment 2022, Jongwe brings valuable experience to the Miss Earth stage.

The pageant will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on December 22 2023.

With her passion, dedication, and unique background, Jongwe is poised to make a significant impact at Miss Earth 2023, raising awareness about environmental issues and inspiring others to take action.
