Nhau to launch second book

Makomborero Nhau (19) is set to launch her second book titled 'Outspoken Random Thoughts' on November 11.

AUTHOR Makomborero Nhau (19) is set to launch her second book titled 'Outspoken Random Thoughts' on November 11.

The book, set for Batanai Gardens launch, is intended to bring hope to motivate and encourage people for growth.

The book borders on abuse, discrimination, racism and gender-based violence.

Nhau said she wants to share her opinions and her experiences in a very truthful way without any boundaries, hence the book title.

"I focused on writing, brainstorming ideas on contemporary issues. I also took some time to look back and pen down my past experiences.

"I was inspired by other art pictures as well as my spiritual journey as a Christian. I also got inspiration from lived experiences with people to whom I dedicated poems in the new book," she said.

Nhau started writing when she was in Form 2, she launched her first book in 2022 titled Profused feelings and completed an anthology "Random Thoughts "with a compilation of 50 poems.

She emerged second runner up at a poetry contest titled Daughters destined for purpose.

The young author said the new book will target  all age groups as the contemporary issues in the book are relatable to the young and adults.

"I believe most people will relate with the poem; as a student I explained how hard it is being a student with inadequate resources and facing the consequences of struggling to have school fees paid," she said.

The author said she learnt her mistakes from her debut book and corrected them in the second one.

Nhau said the book Never give up by Joyce Meyer influenced her writing career.

She told the Standard Style that she takes criticism as a way for her to self introspect and discern where it’s positive or negative.
