VICTORIA FALLS-BASED poet Obert Dube says he is geared up for the Lobebe Lwa Setso Cultural Festival to be held on October 28 at Simon’s Farm, Ramapatle in Gaborone, Botswana.
The fete, which comprises of music, dance, poetry will see performances by many groups from eight African countries and Mexico
Dube confirmed the developments to Standard Style yesterday.
“I honestly feel honored to be invited to take part at the Lobebe Lwa Setso Cultural Festival,” said Dube.
“Considering that I am not the best poet in Zimbabwe but seeing an invitation makes me feel that my poetry is known across borders.
“So far everything is in order, I am ready. I have been rehearsing these poems since I received the invitation and poem to recite. I may add two since people can ask for more, I am geared up,”he said.
Dube, known as The African Poet said his poems are about Pan Africanism, and he will do something along those lines.
“I will recite poems like —Cry my beloved Africa which was requested and the other poem will be called Slavery. I am known as a Pan African poet hence my poetry is about Pan Africanism," he said.

“I will share my performance with different artists from Lesotho, Eswatini, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia among others. We were also told that there will be an international group that will attend the fete. So I’m looking forward to this day.”
