FURNITURE and equipment worth more than $30 000 was destroyed when fire gutted a building in Kadoma, which houses Zero68 Lounge bar and Midas.
The fire broke out on Monday night resulting in the two establishments being reduced to rubble.
“The fire could have been caused by an electrical fault,” said Platman Stylz, Zero68 Lounge bar DJ and entertainment manager.
“We had no Zesa [electricity] that day, and we left around 11:30pm as usual and 30 minutes to an hour we received a call that the place was on fire.
“We went back and found fire brigade there, unfortunately the water pressure was very low and then the water was finished and then they left to get back up.
“But the fire went wild and spread everywhere, and went on to the next shop which is Midas,"
“Our place and Midas were burnt down; nothing was left, everything gone.”
The newly opened leisure and food outlet Zero68 Lounge bar, a franchise of Hot Plate Grill has been described as a big loss to local artistes who had found a new home to perform at.

“Our place had become the place to be if you want to enjoy good food, good drinks whilst you get mesmerised by local artists,” said Platman Stylz.
“Local artists had found a home here, unfortunately the fire is a big setback, this is a huge loss not just to us the workers and our boss.
“Not also its a loss to the artists who would perform here.”
The bar was hosting jazz nights on Thursday and party nights on Fridays and Saturday nights.
Artists who have performed at the spot are Brian Jeck, Mostaff, Brnadon Molly, Macro, Trio Jazz, Mbira dzemunyanza among other artists.
