AFRO-SOUL musician Tariro Negitare has been appointed as the festival manager for Jacaranda Music Festival and is grateful to Walter Wanyanya and his team for trusting her to execute the vision.
This comes after her Facebook post recently where she said: “I am excited to announce my new appointment as the festival manager for Jacaranda Music Festival. Thank you Walter Wanyanya and team for trusting me with this big vision! #JacarandaSeason “
In a follow up interview with Standard Style, Tariro Negitare said her role is to oversee all departments of the festival and execute the founder’s vision.
“I am the new festival manager. As an arts manager I am thrilled to be given this responsibility and to serve artists on such a big platform. It’s also a testament to remaining faithful in the small things.
“I am so grateful to Walter Wanyanya and his team for trusting me to execute the vision. My role is to oversee all departments of the festival and execute the founder’s vision. I’m also responsible for our regional strategy which SJMF has already positioned itself very well,” she said.
Tariro Negitare said she had already been working with SMJF as artist liaison and the new appointment came this August 2023.
The 6th edition of the Stanbic Jacaranda Music Festival (SJMF) is set to take place in Harare from October 6 - 8 at Old Hararians Sports Club.
Artistes confirmed include Judith Sephuma, Ami Faku, Daliwonga, Ndlovu Youth Choir, Murumba Pitch, ExQ, Alexio and the Shades of Black, Sylent Nqo, Norman Masamba, Chiwedarr, InTotal Band, Gary Tight, Those Guys Vacho, Jason Le Roux and Gwevedzi.
