Doubtful Zimbos deserved Mugabe's rule: Buffalo Souljah

Buffalo Souljah

SELF-proclaimed African king of dancehall, Buffalo Souljah has sensationally claimed that Zimbabweans are doubtful and resistant to change hence former president, the late Robert Mugabe ruled the country with an iron fist for 37 years.

The artiste was responding to fan reaction and criticism after revealing his intentions to fill up the giant National Sports Stadium to match Cassper Nyovest who did the same at his hometown stadium- Mmabatho Stadium.

The chanter is preparing to host a show at the National Sports Stadium dubbed Zadza National Sports Stadium. After he announced his intentions, fans ridiculed his music and his ability to fill the stadia.

“When I saw the negative comments flying all over the post I had made, I was not surprised. I was actually waiting for it, usually when there is a new idea, Zimbabweans start by doubting but that will not stop me because I have already made up my mind.

"That is why the country was ruled by one president, Robert Mugabe for more than 30 years because people don't want to embrace new ideas," Buffalo Soulhah told The Standard Style.

The Rugare hitmaker said he was not going to be deterred by naysayers from his fill up national stadium plot.

“I am not the first one to receive this form of negativity about filling up a stadium, Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid and Casper Nyovest have done it but at first they had received negativity and backlash so this gives me motivation to do what people think can’t be done," he said.

Social media users told the chanter to desist from the idea and leave it for 'bigger' artistes such as Winky D and Jah Prayzah.

“Everybody should be able to do what they want to do without being compared to other artistes. If Winky D had been told to leave music for bigger artistes like Oliver Mtukudzi and listened to negativity during his early days in the industry we would not have Winky D today,"

"Same as in America, the godfathers of Hip-Hop are the likes of Kanye West and Jay-Z, but as we speak there are younger trending artistes in the industry such as Travis Scott. That’s how it should be, we should be able to welcome new things from other artistes without having to compare them all the time," said Buffalo Souljah.

Meanwhile, the artiste revealed that he is working on an EP (Extended Play) which will be released ahead of the fill up National Stadium concert.

“I am working with the likes of D.j Tamuka and Oskid on this new E.P that will be released ahead of the concert,"

Buffalo Souljah went on social media advertising that he is selling his car- a luxurious Mustung to finance the Fill Up National Sports Stadium concert.
