Mutare-based musician and businessman Brian Samaita has poured his heart out on how he found Jesus Christ courtesy of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) founder Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

Samaita made these remarks yesterday after walking home with the Zimbabwe Top CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Manager of the Year Award at the national Responsible Business & CSR Awards 2021 organised by the CSR Network Zimbabwe in Harare.

The awards ceremony held at the Rainbow Towers ran under the theme Celebrating sustainability excellence: Towards achieving vision 2030.

“Like I always say, I am a born-again and I am shepherd in Major 1’s Enlightened Christian Gathering church,” Samaita said.

“At some point Major 1 prophesied that I would win awards, including a national award and that happened last night [Friday].

“He foretold that I was going to get three awards this year and this happened. I am happy that that the prophecy has been fulfilled.”

In September Samaita won the Social Impact Award at the Manicaland Environment, Responsible Business and Corporate Social Responsibility Awards before his logistic company Samaita Trucking came as second runner-up for the Entrepreurial Resilience Award at the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Manicaland Annual Business Awards held in Mutare early this month.

It is the Zimbabwe Top CSR Manager of the Year gong that has been Samaita’s achievement and he believes more accolades are coming.

“With God by my side, I think more awards are coming,” said Samaita.

On Friday, outstanding individuals and organisations were given awards in categories such as Environmental Stewardship, Top Covid-19 Supporting Organisation, Business Transformation Award, Sustainability Innovation Award, SDG Impact Award, Social Impact Award, CSR Partnership of the Year Honouree, Business Leader of the Year, Excellence, CSR projects in national priority areas, CSR projects in districts/difficult terrain and responsible supply chain, among others.

CSRNZ, whose executive director is Willard Razawo, seeks to support sustainable businesses, which contribute to sustainable economic growth leading to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
