Mutare-based musician and businessman Brian Samaita was on Friday honoured for his contribution to society when he walked home with the Social Impact Award at the Manicaland Environment, Responsible Business and Corporate Social Responsibility Awards held in Mutare.
This is the second year running that Samaita has scooped a gong at the awards which are run by the Corporate Social Responsibility Network Zimbabwe (CSRNZ).
Last year the musician won the Philanthropist award at the provincial awards ceremony before grabbing the same award at national level.
Individuals, companies and organisations were rewarded in more than 20 categories that were on offer.
According to organisers of the awards the annual event seeks to honour the most accomplished sustainable, responsible, and social efforts and initiatives within the private, public, and development sector.
The initiatives range from sustainability to philanthropy to shared value to social impact to corporate social responsibility.
“I am happy that I have been honoured for the second year running and this shows consistence in whatever I do,” Samaita told Standard Style yesterday.
