THE Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) yesterday continued its football rebuilding exercise after signing two memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with Kyros Sports and PD House to drive grassroots development and enhance their digital presence, respectively.
Kyros Sports will work with schools to create a clear pathway for young athletes, ensuring the next generation of football stars gets the opportunities for them to thrive.
PD House, a leading web development company, has committed to transforming the association's website to international standards while making Zifa more accessible and engaging for all.
Zifa president Nqobile Magwizi met with representatives of the respective organisations at the signing ceremony which was held at the association's Milton Park offices.
"This is one of many partnership deals we hope to be signing as we go into the future, as we go towards transforming our football. One of the critical aspects of building sport is making sure that it's well-resourced. Resourcing sports and football in particular, does not only require people that are going to bring in money, but it requires to create environments or ecosystems that will generate the revenues we need to make football move forward," Magwizi said.
"So a lot of the engagements we've been doing are aimed at generating capacity in all spheres of our thrust as an association to build the sport. Today I'm particularly excited by this opportunity where we are signing two contracts or partnership agreements with PD House, as well as Kyros Sports," he said.
Kyros Sports' representative Nyasha Muchochomi was excited after forging a new partnership with Zifa.
"It gives us great excitement to be partnering with Zifa. We've done quite a lot in sports management and creating systems. I think where our strength lies is creating structures and systems that develop talent. And in terms of youth development, we've done that with different associations in Zimbabwe and also internationally," he said.

"We're excited about this whole programme and just the potential that it has to bring, a healthy sporting environment for all of our young people across the country.
PD House gave a brief background and what they are bringing to the table.
"We are more into enterprise business plans. That's what PD House does. But out of that, we are then able to do all sorts of things such as websites, apps, any other technology platform that you can think of. Everything is being developed in-house. We have a team that is based overseas, which undertakes all these apps. There are a lot of opportunities that can be created, particularly in terms of e-commerce, ticket sales, reaching different markets all over the world," said Martin Mukaro, PD House's business development director for southern Africa.
Zifa board member Tafadzwa Benza as well as the association's chief executive officer Yvonne Manwa were also part of the ceremony.
