EAGLES are enjoying a rich vein of form with a complete all-round performance condemning hosts Tuskers to an innings and 205 runs defeat at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

Russell took 10 wickets for 140 runs from 34.1 overs as Tuskers were bowled out for 321 in 92.1 overs for the first innings and 190 in 34.3 overs in the second innings.

The Eagles needed to bat only once declaring on 716/7. Four Eagles batsmen scored centuries in a show of force and class. Dion Myers top scored with 179 from 198 balls. Seasoned campaigner Craig Ervine hit 171 from 226 deliveries while opener Kudzai Maunze laid a solid foundation together with Myers scoring 113 from 193 balls. Tadiwanashe Marumani enjoying life in the middle order chipped in with 107 from 112 balls whole Tony Munyonga and Wessly Madhevere scored 44 and 42 runs respectively.

Eagles head coach Eric Chauluka said his charges are playing with freedom and enjoying every moment on the field.

“When you enjoy what you are doing as a unit results will always come along,” Chauluka told NewsDay Sport.

“We just need to strive for consistency and see how far that will take us. Eagles is a big franchise and the pressure to win silverware is always there. However, it's still early days yet to talk about winning the title we will take each game as it comes.”

Tuskers' top performers were Sean Williams with a half century in the first innings, 88 (96), Aliakbar Hamid 76 (59) in the second innings and Nkosana Mpofu scoring 59 (139) in the opening innings.

In Kwekwe, Mountaineers beat Rhinos by 143 runs. Vincent Masekesa took 12 wickets, five and seven in the respective first and second innings for 180 runs in 43.4 overs. Rhinos' Brendan Mavuta had a five-for while Welch brothers, Nicholas scored 125 and Mathew back to back 50s, 89 and 75.
