Kaindu frets over Caps' form

Caps United won three of their last four outings, sharing the spoils with Green Fuel before the international break.

HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu is fretting over playing Caps United at their homeground, particularly with The Green Machine enjoying a purple patch.

The two giants collide at Rufaro Stadium in a league match on Sunday.

Caps United won three of their last four outings, sharing the spoils with Green Fuel before the international break.

Bosso accounted for Makepekepe 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Barbourfields Stadium in April.

Kaindu says Sunday’s game is a crucial one as he believes they are still in the picture for the championship.

“It is one of the most important games that we are playing. We are playing a team that is currently in top form. I think they have gone for about five games without recording a defeat,” the Bulawayo giants gaffer said.

“They have picked up their form and their seasoned and senior players are helping them in terms of influence on the field.

“Playing Caps United at home is not going to be easy, but we just hope and anticipate that we have done slightly better playing away from home and we hope that we can carry that kind of performance.”

Kaindu is worried about injuries in his camp, although the international break allowed injured players more time to recuperate.

“In terms of our preparations for the coming game over the weekend against Caps United, the one-week break because of the Fifa calendar gave us a slight advantage in terms of our players that were injured,” he said.

“We have [Godfrey] Makaruse and Never [Rauzhi] that we feel are now almost getting to the level of fitness with everyone and have been doing full training with everybody. We also have [Raphael] Pitisi and Prince [Ndlovu] resuming light training.

“We are anticipating and hoping that by next week, they might be able to be training with the rest of the team. We still have Marvin [Sibanda] and [Archford] Faira out and we are also hoping that our medical team is doing their best and hopefully one of them should resume training maybe next week.”

Kaindu welcomes back Melikhaya Ncube, who was suspended last week for the game against Herentals.

However, defender Arthur Ndlovu faces the same fate and will miss the Caps United match.

After defeating Chegutu Pirates, Highlanders drew against Ngezi Platinum and Chicken Inn before they were defeated by Herentals.

The drop in points was a huge blow to Bosso's title campaign as they are 12 points behind log leaders Simba Bhora with eight games remaining.
