WARRIORS’ defender Teenage Hadebe is on the verge of sealing a return to US Major League Soccer (MLS), where he is set to join FC Cincinnati.
Cincinnati plays in the MLS’ Eastern Conference.
The transfer window closed on August 14, but MLS clubs have until September 13 to sign free agents and Hadebe (28) has been unattached since he left Konyaspor of Turkey at the end of May.
An online edition givemesport.com stated that the Warriors defender is on the verge of committing to Cincinnati.
“FC Cincinnati is finalising a deal to sign Zimbabwe international centre back Teenage Hadebe. Hadebe is a free agent. Though the transfer window closed on August 14, MLS clubs can still sign free agents until September 13,” the website said.
Despite being out of action for some time, Hadebe has attracted the attention of new Warriors gaffer Michael Nees and is part of the squad selected for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign next month against Kenya and Cameroon in Uganda.
Zimbabwe are in Group J with Cameroon, Kenya and Namibia.
Announcing the squad on Monday, Zifa said: “Teenage has secured a new club, but the club has requested that they be allowed to be the ones to make an announcement.”

Hadebe played for Bantu Rovers, Highlanders and Chicken Inn locally before moving to South Africa, where he joined giants Kaizer Chiefs in 2017. He spent two years at Amakhosi.
In 2019, he was signed by Turkish topflight club Yeni Malatyaspor where he had a two-year spell.
He joined Houston Dynamo in the MLS in 2021 and returned to Turkey in February this year, where he spent four months.
Hadebe was part of the Warriors that took part in the World Cup campaigns in Rwanda last November and in South Africa in June this year.
