Musabvunda promoting fitness and sporting excellence

Musabvunda founder and CEO Kudzai Pasipanodya

HEALTHY lifestyle and wellness have become a big hit with many investing in their physical and emotional well-being.

Some are joining gyms, some are investing in personal trainers and some have routine Zumba sessions just to stay fit so that they keep the doctor away and enhance personal productivity.

To that end, a number of fitness and lifestyle organisations have been born as  fitness experts and enthusiasts respond to the high demand for wellness programmes and activities.

One such organisation is Musabvunda Fitness and Lifestyle which is the brainchild of corporate executive and fitness enthusiast Kudzai Pasipanodya, widely known as 'The Greatkhalister' in fitness circles.

With two years of professional existence and programming,  Musabvunda which specializes in the sale of gym and sports wear, wellness consultancy as well as hosting of fitness and sporting events has become the leading fitness and sporting brand in the country and beyond.

Speaking to The Standard lifestyle, Musabvunda founder and CEO Kudzai Pasipanodya said they have grown in leaps and bounds since they started operations 2 years ago.

"We are promoting sustainable fitness and sporting excellence through our programmes as well as the quality gym and sports apparel that we sell to different age groups and classes.  Musabvunda has become the brand of choice in terms of fitness and wellness programming and events and we are continuously investing in better products and services.

Our professional approach and branding has made us the market leader and we are grateful for the confidence that we continue to enjoy from the market," Pasipanodya said.

Most Musabvunda events around Zimbabwe and beyond are sold out with their nationwide gym and sports apparel shops enjoying overwhelming demand.

"Given the quality of our events and the related gym and sports wear, we have always been clear about our growth game but we didn't anticipate such a positive response from the market in record time.

We have had to spread out tentacles across Zimbabwe and beyond through the Musabvunda branch network as well as individual agents who are also helping us bring the services and products closer to the people," he said.

Now boasting of over 7 branches in Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru and Mutare, Musabvunda has become the fastest growing fitness and wellness brand and Pasipanodya said their loyal clients and stakeholders should expect more.

"We have deliberately invested in meaningful market presence through the quality events as well as on-demand gym and sportswear products that we sell.

We literally have everything for everyone but more importantly, we have grown our branch network to 7 in the major cities and the plan is to cover the entire Zimbabwe and beyond in the near future. The market penetration is amazing and we are buoyed by this support," he said.

While some consider fitness and wellness programming as a pastime, Pasipanodya said Musabvunda has become a cherished movement that embodies excellence, productivity and maximum capacity utilisation.

"Musabvunda has become a trusted movement of relentless doers who value excellence, productivity and maximum capacity utilisation.

The goal is that by promoting fitness and wellness, we also enhance excellence and productivity because when you are in the right frame and state of mind, you perform and achieve better," Pasipanodya said.

Pasipanodya who has participated in flagship marathon events in South Africa, Zambia and the United Arab Emirates said the experience gleaned from such interactions has made their organization better.

"Musabvunda is all about continuous improvement and we have gleaned a lot from the international fitness and marathon events we participate in.

We want Musabvunda to compete at global level and we value the feedback that we are getting from the many stakeholders around Zimbabwe and beyond. The future is brighter and we are geared for the long haul," he said.

As Musabvunda continues to grow its market share and influence, Pasipanodya also shared about the growing number of stakeholders and partners that they are working with.

"With excellence, continuous improvement and gained experience, our market share has grown tremendously and we now boast of a rich network of partners who believe in our approach to business.

We have worked with government departments and ministries, corporate organisations, school, charities, non governmental organizations, churches and individuals who believe in our professionalism and work ethic. All that attests to excellence and we want to maintain those standards into the future," he said.

The Greatkhalister also intimated on future projects under Musabvunda highlighting that there is whole world to conquer.

"We have had lots of enquiries from the market especially in relation to setting up of centers to deal with rehabilitation of drug and substance abuse victims, gyms and other sporting and fitness excellence activities.

What I can say is that the possibilities are endless and we are hoping to partner and work with various stakeholders to achieve our goals. The hope is that we provide a holistic approach to the diverse fitness and wellness needs to our people," he said.

At a time government and other stakeholders are working to combat drug and substanc abuse, Pasipanodya said fitness programmes can be a good tool to ensure abstinence.

"Drug and substance abuse has become a cancer to society but we believe that all hope is not lost. We just need unity of purpose in fighting this scourge.

As a fitness and wellness movement, we equally have a role to play in this fight and we will always play that auxiliary role to complement efforts by government and other key stakeholders," Pasipanodya said.
