HIGHLANDERS have bolstered their technical bench by roping in Warriors legend and former Zimbabwe Saints star Agent Sawu to be the club’s second assistant coach.
The post fell vacant after the resignation of Joel Luphahla a few weeks ago.
The former striker joins coach Kelvin Kaindu, who was recently reappointed at the Bulawayo giants, and first assistant coach Try Ncube in the technical team.
Bosso announced the appointment yesterday.
“We’re delighted to announce that Agent Sawu has joined Kelvin Kaindu’s backroom staff as the second assistant coach. Sawu holds a Caf B licence, a Uefa certificate in football management, and a certificate in soccer management and scouting course,” Highlanders wrote on the club’s social media platforms.
“He has a vast coaching experience, having coached the Zimbabwe national team U15 and U17 side, Bantu Rovers and recently Kwekwe United. We welcome him on board.”
Sawu is joining from lower division side Kwekwe United, where he was the head coach and assisted by Chipo Tsodzo, while Ronald “Gidiza” Sibanda is the team’s welfare manager.
Highlanders said they turned to Sawu after Luphahla decided to walk away from his position.

It is understood that the former Warriors tearaway winger turned down the offer to take charge of the Highlanders developmental side Bosso 90 in the Division One league that had been presented to him.
Luphahla decided to tender his resignation letter instead.
It is not clear what will become of Madinda Ndlovu’s status in the new technical set-up, although it is believed he will be tasked with scouting duties for the senior team.
The new technical team led by Kaindu took over from Portuguese national Baltemar Brito, whose contract, together with that of his first assistant coach Antonio Torres, ended last year and was not renewed.
