Ngezi Platinum Stars goalkeeper Nelson Chadya and Herentals forward Tino Benza are the only players that made it back on the Soccer Stars of The Year calendar from last year.
The two were picked among 11 finalists that were picked by journalists, coaches, and captains yesterday and are set to be honoured on Friday.
Benza has been one of Herentals’ top performers this season while Chadya helped Ngezi Platinum Stars win their first league title.
Benza, who was one of the Soccer Star of the Year finalists last year, has been the driving force behind Herentals’ performances this season, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists.
He was the Chibuku Super Cup top scorer last season while he was voted as the club’s best player.
It was no surprise that he made it among the country’s best footballers yet again.
He drove Herentals to a sixth-place finish on the league table, failing on their target of a top-four finish.
They were clobbered 3-1 by Caps United on the last day of the league, but they will be hoping to build on from a decent 2023 campaign where they gathered 51 points.
