HARARE giants Dynamos kept within touching distance of the top teams after a hard fought victory on the road against struggling Cranborne Bullets at Nyamhunga yesterday.
The Glamour Boys remained in fourth place with 36 points from 21 matches, but are now five points behind log leaders Highlanders who play Chicken Inn today.
Only three points separate Dynamos from the joint second-placed teams Ngezi Platinum Stars and Manica Diamonds having played the same number of matches.
Dynamos are enjoying a good run since Genesis Mangombe took over the reins from Herbert Maruwa last month, winning three matches and drawing one, including a Chibuku Cup victory.
Mangombe was ecstatic about the win over Bullets as he maintained his unbeaten run as Dynamos head coach.
"We are happy because we managed to get three points. We managed to get a clean sheet but it was a tight match. They tried to neutralize us in the middle of the park before we displayed our normal football but we eventually became the victors,” he said.

The home team showed their defensive prowess in the first half, but eventually developed fissures in the second half and allowed Emmanuel Jalai to score a 52nd minute winner.
There were a few goal-scoring chances in the first half as the two teams went to the break deadlocked.
Six minutes after the restart, Dynamos cracked whip, Jalai bundling home a Kevin Moyo free kick.
Dembare had another chance in the 68th minute but Elie Ilunga fluffed it.
Sylvester Munhira troubled the visitors defence the last 20 minutes as Bullets looked for an equaliser, but could not find the all-important goal.
Dynamos managed to grab maximum points and maintain pressure on the top teams as they look to win their first league title since 2014.
Cranborne Bullets FC coach Nesbert Saruchera commended his boys for playing well, but bemoaned the missed opportunities.
"I think we did well but failed to convert the chances. We are going to put more effort in our next encounter,” he said.
Cranborne Bullets remain second from the bottom on 18 points with 13 matches left.
