DYNAMOS are sweating over the fitness of first choice goalkeeper Prince Tafiremutsa ahead of their trip to Kariba for a date against relegation threatened Cranborne Bullets on Sunday.
The lanky goalkeeper picked a knock during training on Wednesday and sat out yesterday's session as the team made their final touches in their preparations ahead of the match.
Club coach Genesis Mangombe said that the team medics are working with the goalkeeper with the hope that he can recover in time to make the long trip.
“He got a knock yesterday (Wednesday), we trained on a hard surface,” Mangombe confirmed during his pre-match press conference yesterday. “The medical team is working on him and we will assess him before travelling. Otherwise the squad is healthy and the players are raring to go.”
Should Tafiremutsa fail to recover in time, it could present an opportunity for out of favour Taimon Mvula to reclaim his number one spot. Frank Kuchineyi has also been impressive at training, and Mangombe could also look to give him a run.
Dynamos will be looking to bounce back to winning ways after they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Tonderai Ndiraya's Simba Bhora on Sunday.
“We are ready for our next opponent. We need to do all we can so that we can get maximum points. It's all we want. We are also cautious knowing that our opponent is in the relegation zone, so when doing anything we will have to be cautious so that we don't concede from counter attacks.”
Dynamos are on fourth position on the log standings with 33 points, eight points behind log leaders Highlanders with 14 matches remaining before the season ends.

Cranborne Bullets, meanwhile, are second from the bottom with 18 points, and are desperately in need of every point available in their quest to avoid relegation.
The army side are using Nyamhunga Stadium as their home ground following the closure of the National Sports Stadium for renovations.
Mangombe said he is worried about the stifling heat in Kariba, with temperatures on Sunday expected to hit 33°C.
His squad is expected to make the five-hour journey this morning so that they will have two days to get used to the high temperatures.
"We want to try and acclimatise with the weather there. We will give the players a lot of fluids to try and conquer the high temperatures," Mangombe said.
Mangombe expects an exciting match against a side famous for their expansive and quick passing type of football.
"It's frustrating to play against a team with a low block, defending and using delaying tactics. We expect something different from Cranborne Bullets. This should be an exciting match if they don't change their playing style."
Just like Dynamos, Cranborne Bullets are also looking to bounce back to winning ways after recording two draws in their last matches against FC Platinum and Chicken Inn.
