HERENTALS put up a gallant fight that helped them defeat Caps United in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane yesterday.
Tino Benza and Davison Marowa secured the goals that the Students needed to collect maximum points to record their second win on the trot.
Speedy forward Clive Rupiya scored Caps United's consolation goal but it was not enough to salvage a point for Lloyd Chitembwe and his men.
Herentals kept their winning momentum after they defeated Bulawayo Chiefs on a similar score line last week.
Herentals gaffer Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva was on cloud nine after the impressive win, that helped them leap into the top eight with 24 points on their tally.
“It was a tough and very physical match but we managed to come out tops. Credit goes to the players because they are the ones that execute our plans,” he said.

“The guys have really been working hard of late. It’s a massive result for us. We won our last match against Bulawayo Chiefs on a similar scoreline.
“I'm happy that our team has managed to defend when we lead. It’s a perfect way to end the first half of the season.”
Caps United started the match on a high note and they made their intentions clear as early as the fifth minute with some impressive forward movements.
But their first shot on target came on the 15th minute when Phineas Bamusi set up William Manondo with a lofted free-kick but the latter's headed effort went over bar.
As Caps attacked, Herentals sat deep in their own half, waiting to break on counter attacks.
For them, it was Davison Marowa who played a blinder on the wings and he rightly set up Benza who thrust the Students ahead on the half-hour mark.
The students maintained their narrow lead going into the half-time break. Caps United then introduced Rodwell Chinyengetere at the start of the second half.
The former soccer star went on the hit the upright with a rasping shot from the edge of the box on the 54th minute.
Two minutes later, Caps United were punished following a defensive mixup that gifted Marowa the ball in the box.
And the speedy winger made no mistake from close range, with a low shot that left Tonderai Mateyaunga rooted at one spot.
The Green Machine pulled one back on the 76th minute through the hard-running Rupiya who darted the ball home after being set up by Blessing Sarupinda.
Caps United gaffer Lloyd Chitembwe was livid with his players after the loss. “I'm disappointed with how we applied ourselves especially in the first half.
“We conceded soft goals and this is the second game that we have conceded such a goal. It's not a good way to end the first half of the season. I hope we will improve in next assignments," he fumed.
