LLOYD Chitembwe heaved a huge sigh of relief as 10-man CAPS United put up a decent performance to end their five-match winless run with a 2-0 win over a determined Green Fuel at Bata stadium yesterday.
A goal each from William Manondo and Rodwell Chinyengetere in either half were enough to seal the much needed win.
Chitembwe was clearly a relieved man, despite the fact that his men huffed and puffed in some stages of the cagey affair.
"Alot of things were not in order in the past weeks, not everything was in order but I'm happy we managed to rectify the situation," said Chitembwe, who last week threatened to quit after the loss against Bulawayo Chiefs.
"It was long overdue. We have always believed in our processes and how we do our things. We have a good team like I always say.
"It was that time where things were not going our way. I'm exceptionally happy with the response the players gave.

"There was so much disunity in the club and its impressive, and if we all pull in one direction, these are the results," added Chitembwe.
Caps United were on the front foot with Hastings Chapusha getting their first chance after 13 minutes.
Two minutes later they earned a free-kick in a promising position, but Godknows Murwira's effort was easily collected by David Bizabani.
Green Fuel got their first chance on the 16th minute when Bukhosi Sibanda got to the end of a low cross from Nqobile Ndlovu.
However, his effort was tame. Caps got another free-kick at the edge of the box when Xolisani Moyo handled the ball, but Murwira's effort was tame again.
On the 28th minute, Ian Nyoni delivered a brilliant cross, which found William Manondo unmarked in the box, but his diving header went wide.
William Manondo then broke the deadlock on the 32th minute, as he tapped home another good delivery from Ian Nyoni.
That was enough to give Caps United some relief going into the half-time break.
They returned with more sting, with Murwira hitting the crossbar with a rasping shot from range.
Raymond Uchena wasted what was probably Green Fuel's chance of the first half as his overhead kick went wide from close range.
Joseph Tulani's shot on the rebound missed the target by inches. Substitute Rodwell Chinyengetere added more firepower to the team.
He doubled their scored three minutes after introduction, capitalizing from a miscue by Tashinga Pfende as Caps United seized full control of proceedings.
However, they were reduced to ten-men when Murwira was red-carded for a second bookable offence, but the Green remained calm.
Green Fuel gaffer Rodwell Dhlakama conceded defeat. "We are not in a good position. We failed to defend. This match was decided in the first half.
"We got some good chances which we failed to convert. So I draw a lot of positives from this match but we have to work on the negatives.
"We have to fight because we are not in a good space. The team must be determined.
"Today, credit goes to Caps United, they came with a better game plan and they won. We must develop a better attitude so that we start winning," he said.
