DYNAMOS supporters can breathe a huge sigh of relief after a diagnosis showed that star striker Jayden Bakare's injury at the weekend was not as serious as initially feared.
The highly-rated striker, who scored on his second start for Dynamos in the 2-0 win over Caps United in Sunday's big Harare derby clash, was stretchered off just after the hour mark.
But a member of the club's technical team told NewsDay Sport that the reigning Rookie of the Year, who has recently struggled with injuries, did not suffer any serious injury.
“Jayden is fit and it's a relief for us,” the source said yesterday.
“We were all worried when he went down against Caps United because of his history (with injuries). But thankfully it was just some tight muscles and cramp, probably because of the work he put up on Sunday. He ran himself to the floor that day.
“He is training well and we are hoping that he could carry on from his last weekend performance. I thought he was fantastic and that is good for his confidence going forward,” the source added.
The source said there were no injury worries in the squad ahead of the team's clash against Triangle set for the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
“Everyone is training normally, and the mood in camp is fantastic.”

Bakare, who impressed for relegated WhaWha last season, had a slow start to life at DeMbare as he struggled with injuries and illnesses at the start of the campaign.
He made a few substitute appearances for the Harare giants during that period, but has since been trusted by coach Herbert Maruwa to lead the line in recent weeks.
After an underwhelming performance against Bulawayo Chiefs on his first start for Dynamos a fortnight ago, the young forward was on fire against Caps United last week.
The trio of Tanaka Shandirwa, Junior Makunike and the scorer of the first goal Donald Mudadi, took the plaudits for the dominant win over Caps United, but Barake also played a huge role in the victory.
His speed and magnificent hold up play unsettled the Caps United defence all afternoon, and helped create spaces which Mudadi exploited to great effect.
Maruwa will be hoping for a similar individual and collective effort from his team when Triangle arrive in the capital this weekend.
Another victory could see Dynamos maintain pressure on the leading pack on the log standings, but more crucially for Maruwa, it would help ease some pressure on him.
Dynamos currently sit on fourth position with 11 points, three behind log leaders Highlanders.
Triangle are looking to bounce back to winning ways after they could only manage one-all draws in their previous two matches against FC Platinum and Chicken Inn last week.
The Lowveld-based side are just a point below Dynamos but because the log table is so congested at the top, they find themselves on ninth position on the standings.
