"Through these awards we are hosting today, the lives are being changed, networks being formed, horizons widened and dreams are being realised. Ladies, be of great service to your families and communities, be torch bearers and transform lives through netball. Wish you all the best in your future endeavours," said Garikai.
Meanwhile, the league is set to kick offstart the 2023 season on February 4 and it will hold its annual general meeting this Saturday to craft the 2023 roadmap.
Four teams have joined the league including Delta, Hwange Colliery, Belvedere and ZRP Mutare- and the league's secretary general Moses Gukurume stressed that they would ensure the smooth flow of games through out the season.
"2023 is going to be a very short season and we managed to craft our programme so that we start on February 4 since we have a lot of national events (Netball World Cup in South Africa and the 2023 Harmomised elections). We want to cover most of the time when most of our team players won't be available," said Gukurume.
"This year we have more organised teams unlike last year when we had a trial and error. Most teams came without background check and we ended up dropping some of the teams since they didn't manage to meet the requirements for the games.
"This season we are also being more serious on the licensing issue; we are going to register the players and give them licenses. We have reached an agreement with our technical staff (umpires) that before any match is played, they should inspect for a license. If a player doesn't possess one, they will not be allowed to play and we are also going to do that to the coaches and the technical staff."
