Icaz, Camfed Zim collaborate in empowering young women

In March the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (Icaz) entered into an agreement with Campaign for Female Education (Camfed) Zimbabwe. The agreement between the two parties will be centred around the advancement of tertiary education and professional development opportunities for young women from marginalised communities towards future leadership within the esteemed field of chartered accounting in Zimbabwe.

In March the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (Icaz) entered into an agreement with Campaign for Female Education (Camfed)  Zimbabwe.  The agreement between the two parties will be centred around the advancement of tertiary education and professional development opportunities for young women from marginalised communities towards future leadership within the esteemed field of chartered accounting in Zimbabwe.

Fulfilling the fundamental right to education, particularly for girls, is crucial for achieving justice and tackling global challenges through women's leadership.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe is a statutory body incorporated under the Chartered Accountants Act (Chapter 27:02).

The institute aims to contribute to the financial and economic development of Zimbabwe by providing accountancy training and education for its students and members. Icaz develops chartered cccountants and other accounting professionals through partnerships with Accredited Training Offices.

In addition, Icaz provides accounting professionals with a broader set of qualifications in order The Institute administers, conducts, and controls the Icaz examination structure; supervises accredited training offices; monitors and regulates the conduct of its members and provides continuous professional development opportunities amongst other roles.

Camfed’s vision is that of a world in which every child is educated, protected, respected and valued, and grows up to turn the tide of poverty, while on the other hand Icaz aims to enhance the international standing and recognition of the qualification chartered accountants (Zimbabwe) all for the benefit of its members, in supporting them through quality services in the public interest. 

Icaz through its Vimbiso Scholarship Trust Fund, therefore, seeks to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Vimbiso Scholarship Fund is awarded by Icaz. To be considered, submit your application to Icaz.

Here's what the scholarship offers:

Full tuition scholarship to any tertiary education institution in Zimbabwe to study an undergraduate degree in accounting; and 

Assistance in placement in a training firm to complete articles of clerkship training.

Applicants of the scholarship should have an intention of completing the articles of clerkship program with a registered training office in Zimbabwe and apply for membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (“Icaz”)

The signing ceremony was graced by the Icaz president, Manyara Chigunduru, Icaz CEO, William Mandisodza representing the Icaz party while the Camfed was represented by the co-national directors Tafadzwa Mbishi and Justina Mabaya of Camfed.

The event was a wonderful display of teamwork and shared goals between the two organizations.

This partnership aims to bring real benefits to the community, helping young women reach their dreams. Everyone involved was excited about the future projects they plan to work on together
