Zimbabwean diaspora unites in London: Voices of protest heard loud and clear

The credibility of SADC as a regional body is now under scrutiny as they are losing trust from people they represent in the region and beyond.

Mnangagwa's Reign of Corruption, Constitutional Injustice and Unlawful Arrests to opponents continues. As Zimbabweans we rally behind newly elected PM Sir Keir Starmer against political repression.

Zimbabweans have called for an end to crisis amid allegations of election rigging and international neglect. SADC accused of complicity to the regime as the democratic space continues to shrink in Zimbabwe and the citizens are calling for Mnangagwa not to assume the SADC chairmanship as this is clear it will sanitize his illegitimacy of his self-imposed presidency.

The credibility of SADC as a regional body is now under scrutiny as they are losing trust from people they represent in the region and beyond. Concerns mount over the unlawful arrest of Senator Jameson Timba and 78 other CCC supporters.

The government must grant them bail as we have seen ZHRO, CCC, ZAPU, ROHR and other civic organizations unite in handing over a Petition to UK's Newly Elected Prime Minister and stage a demo outside the Zimbabwean Embassy today 19th July 2024.

Some of the organizers present included John Burke, Basil Kamombe, Vengai Mutsawu, Greatman Makipa, Diana Machingauta, Dickson Chikwizo, Jane Mundangepfupfu, Simbarashe Jingo, Catherine Gwenhe Lebadou, and Ronald Mutumbi. The petitioners included Tendai Christian Mapfumo, Peter Sungai, Xoliso Sithole, Patience Sanganza, and Sakhili Ncube.

In response to this, Zimbabweans are demanding fresh elections that are supervised by SADC, AU, the Commonwealth, and the EU, with the inclusion of the diaspora vote.

There are growing calls for the disbandment of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) due to recent allegations of corruption. It is clear that there is a strong push for transparent and credible elections in Zimbabwe with the support of international bodies to ensure accountability and fairness.
