A 28-year-old man from Tsanzaguru in Rusape has been jailed 15 years for raping the daughter of a co-tenant.
The incident occurred on December 14, 2022, when the accused person offered to charge the complainant's cellphone at his grandmother's place.
Later during the night, the convict brought her cellphone back.
Instead of handing over the phone, he allegedly grabbed the complainant into his room, and demanded sexual intercourse.
According to the state, the complainant resisted but the accused person violently pushed her onto the bed and raped her.
The court heard that the complainant managed to escape by biting the suspect, before fleeing to a friend's residence where she revealed what had taken place.
A police report was filed, leading his arrest.
