A man from Harare is facing attempted murder charges for causing an accident after he was denied beer.

Muzondiwa Muparira (36) from Mufakose was remanded in custody to September 10 by Harare magistrate Donald Ndirowei.

The complainant is Cassidy Chiyangwa.

Prosecutor Anesu Chirenje alleged that on July 6, Chiyangwa was looking for transport while drinking a beer when he was approached by the suspect who demanded a sip. Chiyangwa told Muparira to be patient .

This did not go well with Muparira who then threatened Chiyangwa with unspecified action.

It is alleged that Muparira caused Chiyangwa to be hit by a passing vehicle when he violently pushed him into moving traffic.

Muparira disappeared from the scene.
